Monday, July 17 (pre-conference)
Long-form Boren (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) and Fulbright (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) training sessions to be held at Drexel University. Registration details can be found HERE

Tuesday, July 18 (pre-conference)
Pre-conference activities: a New Advisors Workshop and a Fulbright Commissions Reading Session. (1:00 - 5:00 PM)

  • The New Advisors Workshop is intended for fellowship advisors with less than three years of experience in fellowships advising.  This session will provide an overview of the national context of the profession and guidance for how to get the most out of the conference sessions.

Wednesday, July 19 (beginning at 8:00 AM) & Thursday, July 20

 

The conference officially begins on Wednesday at 8:00a with an array of plenary and concurrent session.

Breakfast will be served on Wednesday, Thrusday, and Friday at 7:00a.  Lunch will be served on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 12 noon.

The programming on Wednesday and Thursday will include a mixture of concurrent breakout sessions, which include a range of panel discussion, presentations, and workshops; and plenary sessions that feature scholarship- and fellowship-awarding foundation representatives.  Thursday afternoon will feature a plenary "ethics session" for advisors, a plenary discussion session for foundation representatives, and a plenary presentation reviewing the 2016 summer study tours and regional workshops.  Each conference day includes lunchtime expositions, including an "alternative opportunity" fair, a poster session, and an interantional study and research exposition.  

Wednesday evening, attendees are invitied to a "Dessert Networking" event at 8p, wherein foundation and univeristy representatives will be available to discuss their programs one-on-one with advisors.  

In addition to daily conference activities on Thursday, that evening features the off-site cocktail reception at the Academy of Natural Sciences in the iconic “Dinosaur Hall”. Guests can enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres while reconnecting with familiar colleagues and making new connections. This reception is included for members as part of the registration fee. Guests of members are also welcome (an additional fee of $50 per person will be applied.) More information on the Academy can be found at http://www.ansp.org/.

Friday, July 21

The final day of the conference will consist of an open NAFA business meeting, a series of plenary presentations from scholarship foundations, and a lunchtime international study and research opportunity fair.  No concurrent breakout session are scheduled for Friday.  The conference will conclude at approximately 4:00p.

  • Rate:  $625 for Members, $725 for Non-Members
